Many headshot photographers will encourage you to shoot against a white background because that's what they think you want, but that is old fashioned. With each of my clients I spend a great deal of time determining what is best for that person and create a custom shoot for them. An office shot is not just a person in an office. I work with the client to choose appropriate clothing, that looks great on them, but also that has them pop out from the background.
