Three ways to de-stress from your work week - from a top Toronto Corporate Headshot And Event Photographer

You're exhausted, you work far more than the 40 hour week, you feel like you can't take it anymore. Believe it or not, exercise is really going to help you out. Here in Toronto we a lucky to have so many wonderful places to get outside and shake out that stress. I had the opportunity to photograph Michelle Lew Libay a coach for the San Francisco Marathon training program Run 365 on a cozy socked in with fog morning down at Ocean Beach. We met at 6am at my apartment, looked over her clothing that we had talked about before the shoot, then head down to the beach. When we arrived, I was so excited to see how cloudy and grey it was. Perfect for running and perfect for photography. We grabbed our clothing and I grabbed my cameras and we head down to the water. I showed Michelle my inspiration images of how I saw the shoot and I was snapping away. Michelle was in such a positive mood, no wonder she is a coach for the marathon. I bet her trainees just love her and her encouragement. Stride after stride Michelle knocked every shot out of the park (or ocean, in this case).

So here are my tips to de-stress from your work week.

1. Exercise. Go for a run, a swim, a bike ride. Do something to get your mind off of work. Even if it is just 30 minutes. It will help lift your spirits, and refresh your mind.

2. Meditate. The age old practise of clearing your mind is so valuable, especially if you know you won't be able to get away on a mini break. Give yourself 10 minutes a day in silence to breathe, and practise.

3. Friends. Call a friend, go for a walk, or get a meal together. Talking to someone who is not in your industry really help shed some outside light on things and can help you through the tough times.
